Active lifestyles can be severely affected by an injury to your Achilles tendon. Depending on your specific injury, there will be a diagnosis under your doctor’s care, a treatment plan, and a period of recovery. As we have said, the iWALK2.0’s benefits make it the best choice in most cases.

We have two stories to share from people who have suffered from Achilles tendon injuries that prove this to be true. First, we will introduce you to Roy, an active and self-reliant person who didn’t want to be dependent on his wife while recovering from an Achilles tendon tear. After Roy, you will have the opportunity to meet Rae, an extremely athletic person who recently suffered an Achilles tendon rupture and found the iWALK2.0 soon after.

How iWALK2.0 Helps With Recovery After an Achilles Tendon Tear – Roy’s Story

When Roy tore his Achilles tendon, he suddenly had to adjust to a whole new life with limited mobility. His wife did as much as she could help, but that made Roy feel too dependent. He needed to regain his mobility, and quickly. The couple started looking for options that could help and began comparing mobility devices online. They were looking at knee scooters, which seemed more helpful than traditional crutches when they happened across the iWALK2.0. Roy watched videos of people with similar injuries playing badminton and doing yard work with the iWALK2.0, and he knew he had to try it for himself.

The day Roy’s iWALK2.0 arrived; he quickly put it together and began using it. Within seconds he was walking around the house, and after a few strap adjustments, he was hooked. Roy was very happy, first to be able to help his wife clean the kitchen, and then to take his iWALK2.0 outside and clean his car.

Roy played football for over ten years and was lucky that he never had a serious, sports-related injury. He is thankful though, that when he did have a major injury, and needed it most, he found the iWALK2.0. He went on to tell us that the iWALK2.0 had the potential to revolutionize the sports industry by helping injured athletes avoid the pitfalls of traditional crutches. We think so too. We are happy to share Roy’s success story with others that may have suffered similar Achilles tendon injuries. We are also proud to have people like Roy that stand behind the iWALK2.0 and proclaim it to be, “Simply the best crutch ever.”

Achilles Tendon Rupture Recovery and the iWALK2.0 – Rae’s Story

After we met Roy, we had the pleasure of meeting Rae. Rae was used to leading an extremely active, and athletically challenging lifestyle. Over time, she developed an Achilles tendon rupture that could only be repaired surgically with an Achilles tendon replacement. When Rae was scheduled for surgery in January 2016, she already knew she would be faced with a long, non-weight-bearing recovery.

Before her Achilles tendon rupture, Rae took Zumba or Bootcamp classes daily, walked three miles at lunch, and averaged about 21,000 steps a day on her Fitbit. Because Rae knew that her happiness depended on being mobile, she began looking for an alternative to crutches and knee scooters, even before her surgery. Rae had some experience with knee scooters due to an injury her husband had sustained years ago, but she knew she needed something even better. She found the iWALK2.0 online and ordered it immediately.

Rae received her iWALK2.0 a few days before her scheduled surgery. She quickly became comfortable using it, making her post-surgery adjustment an easy one. By mid-February, Rae was already back up to 6,000 steps a day on her Fitbit, She was also able to return to other exercises, such as free weights at the gym, that would not have been possible without her iWALK2.0. Though Rae does use the knee scooter at times for variety, she feels that she is able to get more exercise with the iWALK2.0. When Rae contacted us to thank us for the iWALK2.0, she said that by giving her back her mobility, the iWALK2.0 even helped her keep her sanity during recovery. We are happy that we could help!
